After applying a scale using a pivot located anywhere but the bottom,

you will have to move the object and align your model with the floor

again since the scale changes the size for each chair leg. To avoid that

extra editing step, place the origin point at the bottom.

It will make the model scale up and down and keep the legs always

above the floor (Figure 2.27).
